As nursing shortages continue to plague our state and nation, Cabarrus College of Health Sciences is doing its part to fill the gap, offering a variety of nursing degree options right here in our community to train nurses of the future.
With an 82-year reputation for excellence in nursing education and supported by its affiliation with Atrium Health, Cabarrus College offers five nursing degrees, including three prelicensure degrees for people who want to enter the profession and two degrees for licensed nurses who want to advance their careers:
“As part of one of the nation’s largest healthcare systems, Atrium Health, we see first-hand how critical the demand for nurses is and how it impacts our local community,” said Christine Corsello, Cabarrus College dean of student affairs and enrollment management. “We think it’s important to be part of the solution by making the pathway to becoming a nurse -- or advancing in the nursing profession via a higher degree – feasible and seamless and affordable for as many people as possible.”
With a strong commitment to access and affordability, Cabarrus College is the least expensive private college in North Carolina and offers multiple merit- and need-based scholarships for nursing students. Included among these are the Cabarrus Cares Scholarship, which covers up to 100% of tuition and general fees for NC students who demonstrate need; three merit scholarships for new students; several transfer student scholarships; and the New Directions scholarship for students in the Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing program.
