Cabarrus College’s Online and Hybrid Degrees Promote Career Advancement

Cabarrus College of Health Sciences continues to expand its online and hybrid degree programs, offering new options to accelerate careers for clinical and nonclinical healthcare professionals, locally and beyond.

The college’s most recent offering includes two new tracks — Clinical Research and Healthcare Leadership — in addition to the existing Education and Training track in its online Master of Science in Health Sciences program. Other online degrees include master’s and bachelor’s degrees in nursing, a bachelor’s completion degree in Health Sciences Leadership and Development, and a hybrid Master of Occupational Therapy degree.

“Our online degrees for nurses and for nonclinical healthcare professionals provide education and skills that open the door to new opportunities in the workplace,” said Chris Corsello, Cabarrus College dean of student affairs and enrollment management. “We’re seeing tremendous demand for these types of programs because the flexibility of online classes enables working professionals to maintain work/life balance while pursuing additional education.”

Some of the college’s online programs include practicums or internships, but these can be completed wherever the student lives, making them convenient and feasible regardless of the student’s physical location.

More information on Cabarrus College’s online programs follows:

Master of Science in Health Sciences (MSHS): This master’s degree provides a nonclinical path to advance or teach in the healthcare field and can be completed in as little as one year at a highly competitive price. The MSHS now includes two new tracks — Clinical Research (for nonclinical professionals) and Healthcare Leadership — in addition to the existing Education and Training track.

Master of Science in Nursing: This master’s degree offers Clinical Research and Leadership tracks for nurses with an existing bachelor’s degree. Classes are 100% online and a practicum is also included.
Master of Occupational Therapy: This hybrid program enabling occupational therapy assistants to earn a master’s degree offers online classes, on-campus classes and fieldwork every third weekend, and practicums that can be completed wherever the student lives.

RN to BSN: This 100% online Bachelor of Science in Nursing for registered nurses with an associate degree has no clinical requirement and is ranked as the number two online RN-to-BSN program in the country by RegisteredNursing.org.

Health Sciences Leadership and Development: This online bachelor’s completion degree enables those with an associate degree and an interest or experience in healthcare to build on their existing degree and earn a bachelor’s degree in two years. It offers two tracks: Leadership or Education.

Atrium Health-affiliated Cabarrus College of Health Sciences is the least expensive private college in North Carolina and offers a generous mix of scholarships, loans and other aid, including various incentives for Atrium Health teammates.
