Kannapolis, N.C. – We hope you will join us for the Memorial Day Parade which begins at 11:30 a.m., May 27. The parade begins at the intersection of Laureate Way and Main Street and concludes at Veterans Park on Main Street. A ceremony will follow in the park at 12 noon. Ms. Dorothy Cole, a Cabarrus County resident and the oldest living female WW II Marine Veteran (she is 105), will be honored during the ceremony by Congressman Richard Hudson. The Reggie Saddler Group will perform.
All City of Kannapolis offices will be closed on Monday, May 27 in observance of the Memorial Day holiday. Offices will reopen on Tuesday, May 28, at 8 a.m. There will be no disruption in garbage and recycling collection service, however, there will be no yard debris collection.
All Kannapolis parks will be open for regular operating hours from dawn until dusk. In Village Park, the Rotary Express and Splash Pad will be open Saturday, 10 a.m. -7 p.m.; Sunday and Monday from noon to 6 p.m. At Bakers Creek Park the putt putt course will be open on Saturday from 11 a.m. -6:30 p.m., Sunday from 2-6:30 p.m. and Monday from noon to 6 p.m.
