Members of the Cabarrus Chamber were excited to celebrate the ribbon cutting for Wicked Wife Designs on January 22, 2025, marking the business's move to downtown Concord! Established by local artist Athena Bowman, this unique shop opened its Union Street location on December 7, 2024, bringing handmade resin art, custom clothing, and one-of-a-kind gifts to the heart of the city.
Athena, a former tattoo artist, turned to resin art as a new creative outlet after stepping away from tattooing. “My hands sadly do not work like they used to, so I needed to change my medium,” she shared. “I started pouring resin, and it took off from there!” With seven years of experience running her business, first as a vendor and later as a shop owner in Mt. Pleasant, Athena now crafts 95% of the items in her store by hand, ensuring each piece is truly unique.
Wicked Wife Designs is more than just a store—it’s a haven for creativity and individuality. From striking resin art pieces to custom-printed shirts and clothing, Athena’s work reflects her passion for artistry and her commitment to providing one-of-a-kind creations for her customers.
The move to downtown Concord signifies an exciting new chapter for Wicked Wife Designs. As a new member of The Cabarrus Chamber, she’s eager to bring a fresh perspective to the local business community and connect with fellow entrepreneurs.
