Stefan Perrine, Matt Vega, and Kyle Lingafelt opened their new cidery in downtown Kannapolis on December 2, 2021. As the first cidery in Cabarrus County, their mission is to bring a variety of inspirational and unique ciders all the way from the core of each fruit that they use. The trio has 10 years of experience in Craft Beer Brewing, Master Brewer Certification, and additional Cider Fermentation Education.
The Tipsy Hare offers ciders ranging all the way from a dry tasting cider to a cider with a stronger sweet taste. In addition, they offer seltzers, craft beer, and different wines. For those looking for a non-alcoholic drink, they also offer several kombuchas.
When asked what struggles they faced getting started, they cited bringing a new product to an area. “Building any new business has its normal challenges but adding the complexity of anything that requires an ABC license adds to that challenge.” But they worked their way through the process and are thrilled to open for business in the thriving downtown Kannapolis area.
Another exciting new form of entertainment that the Tipsy Hare offers is four lanes of Duckpin bowling just under the cidery so that you can grab a pint of cider and enjoy gaming within the space.
Tipsy Hare Ciderworks has enjoyed some early media attention, with mentions in the Charlotte Business Journal, WSOC Channel 9 News, Fox 46 News Charlotte, Spectrum News, (Charlotte, Greensboro) Independent Tribune, and Channel 3 News.
Their hope is that Chamber Membership will allow them to build relationships with other businesses in the area so that they complement, not compete with each other, in order to provide the best possible destination entertainment for residents and those visiting Cabarrus County.
