The Chamber helped Lively Therapy Services, LLC celebrate their one year anniversary with a ribbon cutting at their clinic inside of Locke Mill Plaza in Concord.Megan Buckland, MS, OTR/L, BS pursued her dreams and opened Lively Therapy Services in May 2021 to provide outpatient and community based pediatric occupational therapy services. The company has been a dream that was born from Megan's deep seated desire to help children and their families achieve their highest levels of potential, no matter the odds. This help takes on many forms and is customized to each child's or family's unique needs.
Opening the company was the culmination of over 8 years of planning and saving.
"We faced many challenges along the journey to opening the doors, but we saved what we could and eventually sold our house to raise the capital needed to take the leap," says Megan. "My husband left his long-time job with good benefits and put his career on pause to work full-time for Lively Therapy Services. Going to one self-employed income with two small children was a major risk, but we found a small place to rent and went to work creating the facility that started as a dream so many years ago. Every successful mentor I have ever had has always said that if you don't take the risk, you will never succeed in achieving your dream, because all great dreams require risk to achieve. Accepting the financial risk and trusting in our plan, we leaped off the proverbial edge. It was the scariest few months of our life but we ignored the fear and trusted the plan. 1 year later, we have an amazing team of 6 that give their best to the community and their clients every day."
Lively Therapy Services believes their process can be explained in three simple, yet powerful words: Dream. Create. Grow. While therapy services will always start with a referral and an evaluation, they know that the pathway to therapy usually starts with a Dream.
"We want to know the goals, desires, and dreams for our clients and their families in order to customize their treatment goals and achieve success," says Megan. "Dreams will stay dreams; however, until we Create a realistic, challenging, yet achievable treatment plan based on those goals. We will create a client centered plan and discuss options that will ensure that our clients and their families can Grow both in the clinic during treatments and in between sessions at home."
Megan currently performs every initial evaluation and writes customized goals designed to break through the symptoms and begin to improve the root cause. Additionally, Megan specializes in feeding therapy and is an adjunct instructor, helping to educate the next generation of occupational therapy students.
