The Greater Cabarrus Foundation, a new beacon of philanthropy and community support in Cabarrus County, recently held a ribbon cutting and open house at its newly opened office, marking a significant milestone. Launched in July 2024 after two years of planning and development, the Foundation has set its sights on strengthening local nonprofit agencies that address the county's most pressing social issues. With the office signage up and the doors open, the Foundation welcomed community members and engaged with those who share a vision of positive change for Cabarrus County.
The ribbon cutting ceremony was more than just an introduction to a new office—it was a celebration of a hardworking team and mission. The Foundation is led by Cam Cruickshank, Ph.D. and a dedicated group of community leaders who make up its Board of Directors: Bob Bratton, Doug Stafford, Jon Yancey, Britt Leatherman, Pat Horton, Jan Beatty-Hendley, Kelly Propst, and Holt Morrison.
The Foundation recently became a proud member of the Cabarrus Chamber, joining to stay informed, support the Chamber’s initiatives, and actively engage in local networking. As a part of the Chamber, the Foundation aims to foster relationships with businesses and community members, creating a united force dedicated to tackling the county's challenges.
Through the Greater Cabarrus Foundation, the resources raised locally will stay within Cabarrus County, focusing on the needs of those who live, work, and pray here. Their message is clear: Cabarrus County is a special place because of the people who care for it. The Foundation is here to honor that legacy, encouraging a new generation to invest in their community and continue the tradition of servant leadership.
The open house marks the beginning of the Foundation’s journey, and the team is eager to work alongside local nonprofits, businesses, and residents to make Cabarrus County an even better place to live and thrive.
