Adi Khindaria opened the first Compleat Kidz in 2007 because of his strong commitment to helping children due to his own struggles growing up as a child. The company has since grown to open several clinics throughout the state of North Carolina, including their newest location here in Cabarrus County at 420 Copperfield Blvd, Concord, NC.
Compleat Kidz offers pediatric rehabilitative services, including speech, occupational and physical therapy to children with special needs. In 2019, they also began providing ABA therapy, which is behavioral therapy for children on the Autism spectrum. They now provide both services in the same clinic in order to best serve the children they are caring for and their families. Having services for children with special needs all under one roof and a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to therapy is what makes Compleat Kidz stand out from other businesses in their industry.
There have been some struggles with opening and operating Compleat Kidz because they act as an advocate for their children while also struggling to be reimbursed for their services through insurance agencies as well as recruiting enough providers to be able to support their referral list. Despite these struggles, Compleat Kidz continues to grow because of the state’s needs for these services.
Looking ahead, Compleat Kidz has plans to open a mixed-use commercial space in Belmont, which will serve as a safe space for children with and without special needs where parents can attend restaurants and shop freely in a sensory-friendly environment. As Compleat Kidz continues to grow their business, their hope is that their Cabarrus Chamber membership will help them connect with parents in our local community and support the families of Cabarrus County who need their services.
