Members of The Chamber joined the Big Blue Swim School in Concord to celebrate their opening day with a ribbon cutting!
Big Blue Swim School opened in Concord on June 10, 2024 and was established by Woody Alpern, the CEO of SE Swim School #4, LLC and Franchisee of Big Blue Swim School Concord and Gerry Benjamin, Chairman of SE Swim School #4, LLC and Franchisee of Big Blue Swim School Concord.
Woody has been scuba diving for 49 years and is the co-host and founder of Dive Talk, one of the largest scuba diving YouTube channels in the world. He is also a CPA and Personally Financial Specialist (PFS). Woody started Big Blue Swim School because of his passion for water. He was invited to Big Blue's dive-in day and was impressed with their system, curriculum, and laser focus on being the best of breed with teaching children how to swim.
In August 2022, it was announced in Business Wire that Big Blue Swim School was expanding into North Carolina. This article highlights the Concord location as the first Big Blue Swim School in the state of North Carolina!

Woody says he became a member of The Chamber so his business could get involved in the community and get to know other local businesses. He shared that The Chamber has been so supportive as his new business was being built, so it was very important for us to be there to do a ribbon cutting on their opening day!
