Leadership Cabarrus Class of 2025 to Unveil Legacy Project at the Rebuilders Campus at Brown Mill Commons

The Leadership Cabarrus Class of 2025 is proud to announce the completion of their Legacy Project: a transformative enhancement of the grounds at The Rebuilders Campus at Brown Mill Commons, in partnership with the Cooperative Christian Ministry (CCM).

The reveal for this project took place on Friday, May 16th at the campus, located at 530 Cabarrus Avenue W, Concord, NC 28027.

The centerpiece of this legacy project is a newly constructed landscaping wall lining Cabarrus Avenue, constructed with 36,000 pounds of cement block and 25 tons of gravel. In addition to the landscaping wall, the Leadership Cabarrus Class added a wooden fence and undertook landscaping improvements in the courtyard area surrounding the flagpole.

The Rebuilders Campus at Brown Mill Commons is a key component of CCM’s mission to serve the people of Cabarrus County through community transformation and workforce development. This initiative embodies the spirit of “growing together,” by expressing the powerful joint effort between Leadership Cabarrus and CCM to cultivate a space of hope and opportunity.

“The Rebuilders Campus at Brown Mill Commons will serve every city, town, and neighborhood in Cabarrus County and benefit every sector of our local economy,” said Ed Hosack, CCM’s Chief Executive Officer. “The Leadership Cabarrus Class of 2025 has demonstrated one more way to help create this campus and program that will impact lives for generations. The level of organization and enthusiasm of this group through design, planning, communication, and implementation brought professionalism to the project that accomplished the task with remarkable efficiency. I hope the success of the Chamber Leadership Class will inspire more groups like theirs to create community impact here in Cabarrus County.”

“The Leadership Cabarrus Legacy Project was a significant undertaking, requiring countless hours and true teamwork from everyone involved,” said Luke Parks, Co-Chair of the Legacy Project team. “Seeing the project come to fruition is incredibly rewarding. It feels good to know that our collective efforts will positively impact the Cabarrus County community for years to come.”

This accomplishment of this Legacy project would not have been made possible without the generous support of several key community partners. The Leadership Class of 2025 extends its sincere gratitude to Vulcan Materials, Ike’s Construction, Almond Farms, and Helms Masonry, each of whom contributed invaluable tools, materials, and resources, as well as to the Leadership Cabarrus Alumni Association for their financial support in making this vision a reality.

The Leadership Cabarrus Class of 2025 and CCM invite the community to attend the Legacy Project reveal on Friday, May 16th, at 10:00 a.m. to witness the positive impact of this collaborative effort, as we continue to grow together and plant the seeds for a stronger, more supportive Cabarrus County.
