One of our long-time Chamber members is celebrating its 20th anniversary in business this year. There are many businesses you may not know about in Cabarrus County that are leaders in their industry, both in our region and also across the country.
Complete Design & Packaging branched out on their own in 2002, starting their new business here from very humble beginnings, but they are now a thriving business and valuable employer in our community. Their 8-minute anniversary video shares what they do behind the scenes and spotlights their diverse employees who make it happen. CD&P President Howard Bertram stated that “ I started in the industry in corrugated sheet production at Pratt Industries in Conyers, Georgia. Sheet production is the manufacturing of the paper liners to make a corrugated sheet. Pratt built a new facility in Statesville, NC, and offered anyone from the Georgia facility the opportunity to move to the new facility. I opted in, and began working in customer service, scheduling, and sales.”
Eventually, Howard and his wife Donna decided to branch out on their own. "What motivated me beyond my past experiences was the desire to do something on my own, for myself, and to allow me to have and raise a family in one location," said Bertram.
Their anniversary video has some great footage of their facility when they first started compared to the state-of-the-art equipment and operations that CP&D has grown into over the past 20 years. It also features their employees and why they are so important to the work that they do.
"There are plenty of great companies to choose from in the marketplace, but I personally believe we have the best customer experience in our industry. We value honesty, trustworthiness, transparency, and just having fun when it comes to customer contact. Of course, we offer superior quality, but after 20 years, we are really known for our customer experience,” said Bertram.

Chamber Executive Director Barbi Jones said, “Complete Design & Packaging have been members of the chamber for over a decade, joining in 2011. They have been great supporters of our First Responders Appreciation Lunch donating very generous door prizes that make the event extremely popular.”
