All chamber members are welcome to participate in our Advocacy Committee meetings. In 2020, meetings are scheduled for April 2, June 4, Aug. 6, Oct. 1 and Dec. 3. All meetings will be held at The Chamber boardroom from 8 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. Chaired by Randy Welch, District Manager at Duke Energy, the meetings are always filled with up-to-date information from knowledgeable members and guest presenters.
Members of the Advocacy Committee prepare our annual document, which is presented to the The Chamber Board of Directors for approval. The document guides us as we examine issues and take action on matters important to our region. We are grateful to everyone who helped with this year's platform.
We believe that business and government working together responsibly creates the best economy. To that end, we present our 2019 policy positions.
Advocacy Positions are distributed to chamber members, elected and public officials. The committee makes recommendations on policy issues to our executive committee, which are then presented to the board of directors. The board approves resolutions in support of the recommendations.
