Primary Election set for May 8

Vote early to avoid long lines on Primary Election Day

CONCORD, N.C. – The primary election is set for Tuesday, May 8. Avoid long lines on Primary Election Day or register and vote on the same day at one-stop voting, known as early voting, which begins April 19.

There is only one early voting location in Cabarrus County for the May Primary: the Cabarrus County Board of Elections Office (369 Church St. N., Concord) April 19 and 20, 23 through 27, and April 30 through May 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. There is also a Saturday early voting option on May 5, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Registered voters eligible for absentee voting must request their ballot by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, May 1. The last opportunity to return an absentee ballot is by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, May 8. To view eligibility requirements or request an absentee ballot, visit www.cabarruscounty.us/elections

Those who are not registered and wish to vote on Primary Election Day must register by April 13 at the Board of Elections Office. If you miss the April 13 deadline, you may only vote at a one-stop (early) voting.

Polling locations are open 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Primary Election Day, Tuesday, May 8.
